While in Asia, in reality things tend to be a little bit different - In Asia, hedge funds generally hire experienced one from other part of financial industry, namely Investment trust, Long-only asset manager, Sell side, Private equity etc. Those who hire new grads include smaller HF, as well as a handful of mega funds that has graduate program. Meanwhile, in Asia, language is a key consideration given the dispersion of geo and language, hence size of hedge fund in Asia tend to be smaller, subject to their geo mandate.
